It is a pleasure for me to invite you to the next EURO FOOD CHEM XVIII to be held in Madrid, Spain, on the 13 - 16 October 2015.

EURO FOOD CHEM XVIII conference will bring together experts from academia, research centres, administration and industries to debate on the latest scientific advances in the field of Food Chemistry covering the UPCOMING CHALLENGES IN FOOD SCIENCE collected at the frame programme HORIZON2020.
Topics will include those considered at the Societal Challenges related to health, food security, sustainable agriculture, marine and maritime research and the bioeconomy. Bioactive food constituents and functions, functional foods, chemical changes induced by processing and storage, risk/benefits evaluation of food components, novel and rapid detection techniques for food quality assessment, chemistry behind sensorial, flavour and textural properties and exploitation of agri-food co-products will be the main topics of the conference.

Division of Food Chemistry on behalf of EuCheMS decided to organize this XVIII edition in Madrid (Spain), a charming city with a large tradition as vacation destination. Madrid moves between tradition and modernity and possesses a wealth of cultural attractions, many stunning parks, exciting gastronomy, nightlife and shopping. Additionally, Madrid is well-connected with most European capitals and rest of the world.

  Communications based on Food Chemistry that are interested may be published in a special issue of the journal European Food Research and Technology (EFRT), official journal of EURO FOOD CHEM Conferences. Speakers who wish to publish in the special issue of this journal, shall send an e-mail with a preliminary tittle to Prof. Henle, the responsible editor in chief (efrt.henle@chemie.tu-dresden.de)
